The warm waters in Croyde Bay originate in the Caribbean and follow
the Gulf Stream through the Atlantic ocean. This combined with the
consistently good waves makes Croyde an ideal place to surf. Surfers
only have a short walk from the car park at Down End to the beach.
If you are new to surfing, then there are several surf schools based
in and around Croyde to help you
get going. If you are an experienced surfer, there are a wealth
of surf shops if you need a new board
or any new equipment.
